VIce President of Sales and Engineering

Primary Function:

The Vice President of Sales and Engineering plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of our company. VP of Sales and Engineering is responsible for leading both the Sales and Engineering departments, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and the company machining capabilities. VP of Sales and Engineering reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with customers, suppliers, and the production team. Here are the key responsibilities with a focus on Industry 4.0 and IIoT:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets for precision machining.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to expand.
  • Travel to prospect, customer, and vendors when needed to ensure strong partnerships.
  • Travel and represent company at Tradeshows.
  • Fostering a sense of urgency in completing projects and tasks
  • Monitor and analyze market trends in digital manufacturing, automation, and IoT, leveraging data for strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to Company Marketing Plan.
  • Oversee the engineering team responsible for programming and optimizing CNC Swiss machines with a focus on digital integration.
  • Champion the implementation of Industry 4.0 principles, such as data analytics, predictive maintenance, and real-time monitoring, to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that incorporate digital manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team optimize production processes and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers to understand their evolving needs.
  • Lead with the development and improvement of Work Instructions for key work processes.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales and engineering leadership roles within the precision machining industry with a focus on Industry 4.0.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC Swiss machining processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and cost controls, especially in a digital manufacturing context.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business plans that incorporate digital transformation.
  • Leadership experience in managing and motivating cross-functional teams in a digital manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk, stand, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ear protection may be required for certain processes. Closed-toed shoes and eye protection are required for all activity on the shop floor.
