We are seeking a reliable, analytical person who is a strong problem-solver. The ideal candidate is conscientious, organized and is detailed oriented. Other skills required are the ability to read blueprints and has some knowledge of CNC programming.

The company initially focused on the design and installation of lightning protection systems for commercial and residential structures. Today, Harger designs lightning protection and grounding systems as well as manufacturing the components used. Our focus is on growth and on our team members. Responsibilities:

• Assists Tool Room Manager in building of new fixtures and dies.
  • Makes modifications to programs for machining
  • Reads blueprints, understands requirements, dimensions, tolerances
  • Loads programs into CNC machining centers, modifies programs as needed.
  • Sets up fixtures/positions part
  • Set up and run CNC equipment in Tool Room
  • Changes offsets as needed
  • Measures finished quality of parts with gaging
  • Runs manual machines as needed
• Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
• Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area and put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• CNC Programming or enrolled in equivalent classes
• TMA Apprenticeship program enrollment desired
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Mathematically literate.
• Communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and processes such as:
• Air and power tools
• Rulers, tape measures and gages
• CNC Equipment
  • Ability to work independently.
