Plant Manager

We are looking for a Plant Manager to join our organiztion! This position will be responsible for the overall management of the LaCygne, KS plant to ensure its safe, reliable and efficient operations. The Plant Manager is accountable for achievement of plant performance objectives and product quality.  Monitors plant expenditures and budget. Evaluates subordinates. Maintains final authority for resolving day-to-day plant operating and procedural issues. Is an operations professional who understands the value of scheduling and planning, manufacturing processes in the plant, the timely execution of preventative maintenance plans, the operation of the stationary and mobile equipment, and the execution of related tasks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity
• Understands the value of quality and ensures processes are in place to provide a quality product to our customers
• Develop, implement, and monitor plant-wide goals and objectives on a short and long-term basis
• Develop and submit for review and approval, fixed cost spending and capital investment budgets that satisfy the cost objectives of the plants business plan
• Compile and submit required accurate reports, records, and documents
• Optimize and manage the expenditure of all plant resources and assets by effectively utilizing KPIs and performance efficiency reviews to implement changes that effectively track performance, establish goals, and continuously improve the operations
• Manage the selection, training, development and appraisal of personnel
• Provide supervision to subordinates through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned
• Make recommendations for special equipment and capital projects
• Control product quality, cost of its production, warehousing, inventory of raw materials and finished product, and the shipment of raw materials and product
• Manage the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure including its security and protection
• Originate and submit for approval, requests for material and equipment purchase authorizations
• Participate in decision-making process for all major decisions impacting plant functions and operations
• Develop and execute major maintenance and capital investment projects in the range of $10,000 to $250,000
• Maintain final authority for resolving day-to-day plant operating and procedural issues
• Perform managerial duties related to personnel including writing and conducting performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary and termination decisions, and work assignments
• Assist in the development, leadership and implementation of a Plant Business Mission, including its vision and strategies.
• Work with the sales and marketing representatives to develop and understand the issues surrounding the supply, freight, product, storage, customers, and new opportunities
• Actively participate in corporate and facility safety, environmental, security, cost savings and quality improvement programs

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent a must; some college preferred
• 3-5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
• Must possess a working knowledge of the drying, milling, and sizing of solids materials, as well as safety and environmental issues
• Demonstrated team and leadership skills and a desire to lead a facility that is highly competitive and requires high quality standards
• Strong  interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to effectively multitask and work on multiple deliverables
• Fluency in with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent problem solving and strong presentation skills
