Member Development Specialist

The Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA) is seeking a results-oriented sales professional to engage with senior-level executives at small- to mid-size manufacturing companies. Leveraging the TMA value proposition and keen understanding of current issues, engage prospective members through inside sales techniques to generate new revenue.

Functional responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of various sales campaigns; including the development of professional proposals that support TMA's unique value proposition to prospective members
  • Develop and qualify leads within TMA's territory to drive new sales opportunities
  • Leverage referrals to identify and develop new prospects
  • Generate business intelligence; plan and execute targeted sales calls
  • Through heavy outbound calling, engage with senior-level executives of small and mid-sized manufacturing companies to sell new memberships
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales activity and new revenue goals
  • Participate in periodic trainings to improve sales acumen
  • Participate in select trade shows and conferences in order to identify and develop new prospective members
  • Document progress, opportunities, and contacts in TMA's Pipedrive CRM system
  • Regularly participate in pipeline review and sales strategy discussions; and submit sales forecasts as required
  • Travel (when required) to prospective member meetings. Expected travel 80%-90% of position.
  • Work closely with Member Engagement team to successfully onboard new members
  • Work collaboratively with various groups across TMA in order to represent the needs of prospective members and increase TMA-wide revenue
  • Understand and remain current on TMA's services and programs in order to have substantive conversations with prospective members.
  • When necessary, negotiate membership agreements, discounts, offerings, etc. in collaboration with TMA's executive team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements | Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or relevant field
  • Some experience in inside sales or account management
  • Background or strong interest in manufacturing and business policy issues is highly desirable
  • Prior fundraising experience a plus
  • Effective and influential presentation skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during high volume work periods
