Machine Shop Assistant

Brucher Machining, Inc., is seeking a Machine Shop Assistant for their precision machine shop in DuPage County, IL. This TMA member company is seeking candidates who are articulate, reliable, hardworking and motivated to develop skills in the manufacturing industry. 

The Machine Shop Assistant will be primarily responsible for shipping and receiving, general shop and part maintenance, some assembly and other duties as assigned.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid IL driver's license and reliable transportation. The ideal candidate will have good mechanical aptitude and possess some machining knowledge. Apprenticeship available for the right candidate. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment helpful.

Responsibilities:

• Shipping and receiving functions
• Perform general maintenance of shop equipment/ tools
• Keep shop neat and clean
• Pick-up and deliver materials and supplies
• Count parts with 100% accuracy and maintain inventory
• Operate forklift
• Handle raw material
• Run SAW machine
• Organize pallets
• Clean machined parts
• Perform bench work
• Conduct light visual inspections
• Perform some parts assembly
• Perform some CNC machining as assigned

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Illinois driver's license and a good driving record
• Reliable transportation

• Must be computer literate (Be able to us a PC for the purpose of shop control and shipping/ receiving functions.)
