Lexco Cable produces custom cable assemblies from wire rope, aircraft cable, bungee cords, and related fittings and hardware that are used in a wide variety of applications, serving customers in many industries, with volume ranging from one to many thousands. This is no ordinary job! And you are no ordinary person!

Environment 

  Single line extruder for continuous PVC, nylon, HDPE extrusion jacketing aircraft cable 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities  

• Prepare payoff and take-up for the extrusion runs
• Learn to run the extruder 
• Maintain the extrusion machine, the physical work area and all raw materials and products
• Put incoming raw materials away in a timely fashion
• Learn to visually examine completed wire for any defects in coating or defects in the wire  to verify conformance to verbal instructions and samples 
• Learn to monitor machine operation during use and report problems to the Lead
• Report low stock levels 
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance

Specific Job Skills  

• Knowledge of injection molding and/or continuous extrusion helpful
• Mechanical Ability
• Requires bending or twisting and the ability to stand for long periods
• Requires the agility to climb a ladder to the top of the extruder
• Requireswearing common protective or safety equipment  
• Ability to move or lift heavy objects 
• Good math skills
• Use hand or power tools or machinery
