Chemistry Assistant

TWR is a high-tech plating facility specializing in Electroless Nickel and precious metal plating's. We started as a family business in 1969, and we continue that tradition today. As a small and efficient operation, we meet demanding delivery schedules requiring continuous monitoring and development of state-of-the-art chemistry and plating techniques. Job Summary:

Chemistry Assistant to shadow our Chemistry/Quality Control Manager. Learn to Plate parts, Manage Chemistry in production as well as the inventory, problem solving in production. Previous plating experience a big plus but not necessary.

Job Title:

Chemistry Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

Production: (85%)

• Titrate plating baths and make additions as necessary
• Plate parts and assist in production plating as needed
  • Help develop processes for new plating jobs
• Help with Wastewater Treatment
  • Maintain Industry first, Proprietary 100 % Zero Discharge wastewater evaporator system
• Problem solve plating failures and correct them
  • Document and add solutions to database
• Racking and packing of parts
• Help develop new more efficient methods of production

Chemical Handling: (10%)

• Load/unload chemistry deliveries (Forklift & Pallet Jack
• Put away delivered chemistry
• Assist in tracking the chemical inventory
• Proper replacement of aging plating baths
  • Make up new baths

Quality Control: (5%)

• Maintain QC inspection equipment
  • Micrometers sent for annual calibration
  • Assist with XRF (Xray) file calibration maintenance
• Help with ISO Compliance documents and audits as needed
• Maintain Titration records on the log sheets
• Assist with Environmental Compliance Record Keeping
• Other duties as required

Qualifications/Skills:

• Interest in science/chemistry
• HS Diploma/ some college
• Willingness to work hard on their feet in our shop. (Not a desk/lab job)
• Physically fit – high energy level
• Wants to learn plating and the chemistry required
• Future QC manager
• Self-starter, hungry to learn
• Be able to communicate, read, write in English
• Able to follow instructions
• Great attention to detail
• Production mindset. We need someone that understands the more we get done correctly the more money we make. Including themselves.
• Good energy is necessary, excitement about the work
