Automation Lead

We are looking for an Automation Lead that will report to the Automation Manager and coordinate and maintain all systems, activities and procedures. This position works as part of a team having responsibility for producing quality product in an efficient and safe manner.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to analyze and solve manufacturing problems based on data and devise and implement viable solutions. Use systematic, team oriented approach to problem solving.  
• Work with external vendors on design concepts for robust automated manufacturing systems.
• As a member of AQP team, develop least cost, synchronize systems that deliver CPK's greater than 2.0 by developing parts, tools and processes simultaneously.  
• Support product in production by regularly reviewing tool maintenance data, quality data, and production data. Responsible for adherence to engineered rate, conformance to schedule and quality requirements.  Organize efforts to correct any condition that causes less than expected results in the above mentioned data.
• Assist where appropriate in implementing automatic parts discrimination on all jobs. Must have working knowledge of mold pressure transducers, associated equipment/press integration. 
• Improvement implementation activities
• Determining chronic issues based on reject and repair data
• Develop new solutions for problem areas 
• Support general maintenance activities to resolve ongoing production issues
• Responsible for compliance to facility operations and maintenance requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

• High School Graduate or GED
• At least 8+ years of engineering experience in automation manufacturing
• PLC debugging and problem solving - GE and Allen Bradley
• Strong integration knowledge, emphasis in electronics area 
• Mechanical
• Pneumatics
• Electronics
