Accounting Manager / Director

The Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA), a not-for-profit organization located in Schaumburg, IL, is currently seeking a leader to direct the work within our accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your leadership skills in a friendly and collaborative environment. The Manager/Director of Accounting is highly visible within the organization, reporting directly to the President of TMA, and offers opportunities to gain valuable board-level exposure.

Having ownership over TMA's and its entities' accounting and finance operations, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Providing supervision and guidance to the accounting staff
• Directing all general ledger activity and overseeing the monthly and year-end closings
• Cash management and forecasting
• Overseeing expense reimbursement requests and employee credit card usage
• Directing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Processing payroll and commissions
• Preparing and presenting the financial reporting and analysis to the President and Board
• Developing and monitoring the organization's operating budgets
• Coordinating and assisting TMA's external accountants with annual audits and tax preparation

The ideal candidate:  

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting and or Finance
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures
• Experience with QuickBooks (QuickBooks Enterprise a plus)
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
• General ledger software experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• CPA a plus
• Not-for-profit experience a plus
