Ward Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Evanston, IL. Ward Manufacturing has been proudly serving the metal stamping industry for over 75 years.

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the customer. This includes monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials for a company; conducting tests, analyzing measurements, and overseeing production processes. They must fully understand the customer product needs and requirements and follow established quality control processes to ensure it is manufactured to comply with all required customer, regulatory and statutory requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality Control Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision inspection of our products and our supplier's production lines at all stages of production using a variety of test and measurement equipment to ensure they meet quality specifications, including calipers, gage blocks, CMMs, micrometers, height gages, optical comparator and hardness tester
  • Monitor production operations to ensure conformance to company specifications, using sampling or other methods based on established sampling plans
  • Communicate the results of inspections and recommend corrections for nonconformances
  • Document nonconformances and report problems or concerns to Quality Control management or ownership
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies and procedures and complying with established regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Understand the objectives and mission of Ward Manufacturing, and the responsibilities of the Quality Control department and work towards those goals
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required with advanced education or technical training preferred
  • Metal stamping experience highly preferred
  • Proficient in server-based and web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Analytical, logical thought process and thorough attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Spanish fluency is a plus
