NN, Inc. is seeking a Controller with a minimum of five years of direct experience in the field to join our team in Algonquin, IL.

NN, Inc., a diversified industrial company, combines in-depth materials science expertise with advanced engineering and production capabilities to design and manufacture high-precision metal and plastic components and assemblies for a variety of markets on a global basis.

The Plant Controller is responsible for directing the accounting functions of the plant.  These functions include establishing and maintaining the plant's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, including compliance with all corporate directives concerning Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  Prepares financial reports and the supporting documentation required for analysis of the monthly results and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Coordinate the preparation of the monthly financial statements.  Prepare the monthly review of the Financial Statements.  Assist plant management in understanding the financial results.

 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Close monthly general ledger and prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flows for including in Division consolidations.
  • Analyze month-end financial statements, including the preparation of standard schedules used in analyzing the monthly financial activity.
  • Prepare and explain monthly financial information for plant management.
  • Troubleshoot and assist in updating inventory standards.
  • Assist in annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare a portion of the recurring monthly general ledger journal entries.
  • Supervise compilation of month-end inventory and investigate material cycle counts.
  • Review drill downs of general ledger accounts and account reconciliations.
  • Backup for preparation of month-end inventory materials.
  • Assist in coordination of year-end audit by outside accountants.
  • Maintain a system of internal accounting control that complies with corporate directives concerning Sarbanes-Oxley.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position may require the direct management of accounting department staff employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the NN, Inc. and Group (Division) policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of five years of direct experience in the field.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) products.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international NN, Inc. locations, as needed.

Desired:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or non-U.S. equivalent certification, strongly preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in MFG/PRO systems software.
  • General knowledge of aerospace and defense industry.
