Sko-Die, a TMA member company, is seeking an EDM CNC Programmer Operator to add to our exceptional team in Morton Grove, IL. The successful candidate will:

  • Read and interpret specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, or tool description, and plans sequence of operations.
  • Generate/edit programs required to fabricate parts from CAD models or manually as required.
  • Open and modify CAD files as required to manufacture required components.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock to layout work pieces for machining.
  • Machine parts to specifications and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
  • Verify part dimensions using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Perform daily and weekly tasks PM checks, maintaining coolant levels, general housekeeping of work cell and ensuring all safety devices are operational.
  • Input labor into data collection terminals.
  • Detail oriented, follow instructions, and team player a must.

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum of an associate's degree with a minimum of 10 years' experience CNC production and tool room machining, EDM Wire cutting experience programming and running or related environments.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks, CAD & programming software.
  • Knowledge of set-up and operation of machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine, machining center, wire EDM machine and grinders.
  • Ability to read and understand machine controls and computer screens.
  • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
