Lakeview Precision Machining, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with 5+ years of manufacturing experience to join our team in South Elgin, IL.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, beself-motivated and have experience working in a fast-paced precision machining/manufacturing environment. Must have strong analytical problem solving, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with production line employees to plan and control all production activities
  • Monitor and report on plant capacity
  • Implement and drive lean manufacturing improvements
  • Work with and knowledge of manufacturing computer systems MRP / ERP; work orders, inventory control, routings, work centers, and bills of materials.
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.)
  • Lead continuous improvement and process streamlining
  • Establish great communication and interact frequently with all team members to prevent production line stoppages.
  • Prepare reports about production processes for upper management and suggests ways to improve efficiency.
  • Experienced with using ERP and/or MRP. 
  • Update and maintain accurate planning information in ERP System.
  • Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
  • Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering preferred. Other technical degrees considered
  • 5 years or more experience in SolidWorks, and CNC experience OR advanced CNC training. CNC metal turning experience a bonus.
  • Advanced blueprint reading
  • Ability to machine tight tolerance
  • Strong G and M code knowledge and tooling and insert knowledge
  • Knowledge of the principles of Constraint Management, Ergonomics, Risk Assessments, 5S, PFMEA, SPC, DOE, and error proofing techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and ability to analyze, recommend, and implement improvement ideas.
  • Structured problem-solving skills at a working level, including 5-Why analysis, Design of Experiments, etc - Safety and ergonomics.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, such as OSHA requirements, EPA requirements, and TS16949 policies and procedures.
  • Applied methods for optimizing line efficiencies and maximizing outgoing product quality
